How do I start the therapy process? You may start by reading the policy page. We encourage our clients to be fully informed and ask us questions about our working policy before committing for a long term therapeutic relationship. You may ask for a discovery session to get to know and decide your therapist. You may also decide without availing a discovery session first. If you have decided to commit to therapy, please reach out to begin.must@gmail.com to start the process. After receiving your request, you will be sent a consent form and intake form. The consent form informs you of your rights as a client, the therapists’ explicit promises and your explicit and informed consent. The intake form takes your basic information and asks a few reflective questions which helps the therapist to have a basic idea of you as a client. This information also serves as a baseline for therapy later. It is mandatory to fill out and submit both forms as it is a legally mandated as well as ethical protocol in psychotherapeutic services. Once your forms are done, please log in and book the session you want by using the booking calendar. If you try to create a member account without submitting the consent and intake form, following protocol the request will not be granted. If you face any difficulty, please reach out to begin.must@gmail.com.

What happens in therapy?Essentially it is two people engaged in a meaningful conversation. That is how it looks from outside. The therapeutic process is in fact much more complex. It involves a lot of exploration, reflection, acceptance which is done through collaboration between client and therapist. In our therapeutic practice the approach is intentionally integrative. That means the tools and techniques are borrowed from various schools of therapy depending on the client’s current need as well as informed choice. Other than conversation, please expect mindfulness or thought or feeling or art or movement based activities explored in session. Therapists can suggest or recommend activities, teach and guide activities but they do not force the activities under any circumstances.
-
Is there anything I would need to prepare for, for my first session?Just bring yourself, your motivation, commitment and your willingness. If you are coming for clinical reasons, for the first session please bring relevant past medical records.
-
How much time do the appointments usually take?Discovery sessions are for 30 minutes. Individual/Family/Couple appointments are for 50 minutes plus 10 minutes buffer time.

The lead therapist is RCI licensed Rehabilitation Psychologist, trained in various trauma focussed modalities as well as conventional modes of Psychotherapy.
-
Will you be prescribing medications? No, that will be a Psychiatrist or a medical doctor’s job.
-
How long will therapy last for? This is the trickiest question to answer. It depends on severity of the issue and client’s motivation and commitment to work in therapy. Ethically speaking, it is impossible to predict the number of sessions required.
-
Are there a number of sessions within which I can expect to start to feel better?I cannot tell you the exact number of sessions, but as you discover more parts of yourself and are able to look at them with loving eyes, you will definitely start feeling more attuned with yourself as well as the world. Please have a conversation with your therapist about the parameters of ‘feeling better’.
-
What are your work hours?Scheduled appointment slots are available through booking services. It differs from day to day. To ensure quality of services we keep the total number of appointments in one day within 6 sessions.
-
Can I have more than one session a week?If you want, you definitely can. It is decided by the client as per their monthly budget. Depending on the severity of the issue, the therapist might have a suggestion, but largely it is decided by the client. It is also advised to keep a minimum of a two day gap between sessions.
-
Can I book a session the same day?Usually, the calendar is pre-booked from days before. In rare occurrences of last minute rescheduling or cancellations, spots might open up. Appointment on the same day is very unlikely.
-
Can I reach out to you in case of emergencies?Keep the therapist informed, but considering the gravity of the situation choosing a Psychiatric/Medical Emergency Service will be more prudent. You can find suggestions regarding these services noted in our disclaimer throughout our website.
-
What if I need to reschedule or cancel a session? As per policy, you need to inform via email a minimum of 48 hours before. Begin is a small organization and adhering to the notice period protocol helps us treat therapist’s as well as other clients’ time as valuable and respected. Within 48 hours of scheduled appointment, rescheduling request will be dependent on therapist’s availability and canceling request will mean forfeit of fees. If the therapist is canceling or rescheduling a session, then she will do so before the last 48 hours. In case of request of change from therapist side within the last 48 hours, she will be liable to refund the full fees or provide a compensatory session at the earliest possible.
